Brighton, Mar 22 (V7N) – A brilliant performance from Danny Welbeck guided Brighton & Hove Albion to a 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

Playing at home, Brighton started aggressively and took the lead in the 14th minute. The 35-year-old Welbeck found the net from close range following a well-delivered header assist, putting the hosts ahead early.

Liverpool responded quickly, leveling the score in the 30th minute through a fine finish by Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez. The first half ended 1-1, with both sides pushing for control.

After the break, Welbeck once again made the difference. He scored his second goal in the 56th minute, restoring Brighton’s lead and ultimately securing all three points for his side.

Despite creating chances late in the game, Liverpool failed to break through Brighton’s defense, with attacks led by Federico Chiesa and Andrew Robertson falling short.

The defeat marks Liverpool’s tenth loss of the season, leaving them fifth in the table with 49 points from 31 matches, extending their winless run to three games. Meanwhile, Aston Villa remain fourth, two points ahead with a game in hand.

Brighton, on the other hand, climbed to eighth place with 43 points, boosting their hopes for a strong finish to the season.
