Barcelona, Aug 17 (V7N)- Barcelona have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Spanish midfielder Rodri for a reported £65.4 million, according to Sky Sports.
The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner has reportedly agreed to a four-year contract with the Catalan club. The formal signing is expected to take place at Camp Nou next week.
Barcelona had been pursuing Rodri for some time and had made several approaches for the midfielder. Manchester City had previously rejected the offers, but the Premier League club has now agreed to the latest proposal.
Rodri joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a then club-record £62.8 million. During seven seasons with City, he made 298 appearances and won 12 major trophies.
His honours with the club include four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three League Cups and one Champions League.
Rodri had one year remaining on his contract with Manchester City. The club had attempted to retain him by negotiating a new deal, but ultimately accepted Barcelona's offer.
His final period at City was disrupted by injury. After undergoing minor back surgery, Rodri returned to training on Friday but was not involved in City's 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
