Buenos Aires, Sep 01 (V7N)- Lionel Messi's official retirement from the Argentina national football team has prompted an emotional response from his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo.
Roccuzzo shared an emotional message on social media following Messi's farewell to the Argentina jersey, bringing an end to more than two decades of an illustrious international career.
In her message, Roccuzzo recalled witnessing Messi's journey from childhood, including his dreams, sacrifices, disappointments and determination to return stronger after difficult moments.
She said she had been beside Messi through some of the most challenging periods of his career, including missed finals, criticism and the pressure he carried while representing Argentina.
At the same time, she highlighted the joy of watching Messi finally lift the Copa America and FIFA World Cup trophies with Argentina after years of disappointment.
Roccuzzo said the Argentina jersey had become an integral part of their family's life and history. Their children, she noted, grew up watching their father represent and fight for the national team.
She also expressed sadness over Messi's farewell, while emphasizing that he had given everything for his country.
"Argentina will always be a part of you, just as you will always be a part of Argentina," Roccuzzo wrote in her heartfelt tribute.
