Habiganj, Feb 18 (V7N) – A free eye treatment camp was held at Syed Said Uddin High School and College in Madhabpur Upazila, Habiganj, thanks to the support of Syham Group and the National Association for the Welfare of the Blind, Moulvibazar Branch. Around 3,000 men and women received treatment, and over 500 patients were selected for surgery.
 
The camp was inaugurated on Monday, February 17, at 11:30 AM in the school's grounds in Noapara, Madhabpur, with a ceremony presided over by SFAM Shahjahan, the Director of Syham Group and former Chairman of Madhabpur Upazila Parishad. The chief guest of the event was Md. Jahid Bin Kashem, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
 
The special guests included Dr. Mohammad Imrul Hasan, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Syham Group's Director Syed AKM Selim, and Dr. Abdul Mannan, Outdoor Supervisor of the National Association for the Welfare of the Blind. Other notable speakers included former Mayor of the Municipality Habibur Rahman Manik, Union Parishad Chairman Syed Mohammad Sohel, former Upazila Vice Chairman Abdul Aziz, Union Chairman Mahbubur Rahman Sohag, and former Press Club President Alauddin Al Roni.
 
Syham Group began its eye care services through Lions Club in 1987, and over the years, nearly 80,000 patients have been treated, including 8,000 for cataract surgery. The eye care service extends to patients from six surrounding Upazilas, providing essential healthcare to many in the area.
