NY, Dec 11 (V7N) – The United States has urged India and Bangladesh to resolve their differences through peaceful dialogue.

"We encourage all parties to address their disagreements in a peaceful manner," US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated during a press briefing on Tuesday. His remarks came in response to questions about Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri's recent visit to Bangladesh.

During his trip, Misri engaged in discussions with key officials, including Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, and Foreign Secretary Md. Jashim Uddin.

This visit marked the first by a senior Indian diplomat to Bangladesh since Sheikh Hasina's removal as prime minister on August 5.

Addressing concerns over a recent violent attack on a Bangladeshi diplomatic mission in India and escalating hostile rhetoric toward Bangladesh, Miller reiterated the US's commitment to fostering peaceful resolutions.
