Washington, D.C., Jan 20, (V7N) - All eyes are on the Trump family as Donald Trump, 78, prepares to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday at noon ET at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. With his return to the White House, Melania Trump, the incoming first lady, is also ready to move back in.
Melania, 54, born Melania Knavs in Slovenia, started her career as a model at 16 before moving to New York at 26. She married Donald Trump in January 2005, and the couple will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary just two days after Trump takes office again on January 22, 2025.
This will be Melania’s second time as first lady. During Trump’s first term, she did not move into the White House until several months after his inauguration. However, this time she plans to move in on Day 1, January 20. Despite speculation that she would spend more time in New York City or at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, she affirmed her commitment to being a first lady, wife, and mother. She told Fox & Friends, “When I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. But my first priority is to serve the country.”
Melania and Donald Trump have one son, Barron, 18, who is currently a freshman at New York University’s Stern School of Business. She also has a memoir that was released last October, offering a glimpse into her life as first lady and a look at her experiences growing up in Yugoslavia, her move to New York, and her life with Trump.
In the memoir, Melania also expressed her pro-choice stance on abortion, emphasizing women’s rights to make decisions about their own bodies.
Additionally, a new documentary about Melania Trump is set to release later this year. It will provide an "unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look" at her time as first lady. Melania is an executive producer of the project, which has been licensed by Amazon Prime Video for streaming and a theatrical release.
As the family settles into the White House once again, Melania’s role as first lady and her impact in the public eye will be closely followed in the years ahead.
