Jerusalem, Jan 31 (V7N) – While the Netanyahu government claims success in the ongoing war in Gaza, a majority of Israeli citizens remain unconvinced. A recent survey conducted by Lazar Research, published by Israeli media outlet Maariv, revealed that 57 percent of Israelis believe the country’s objectives in Gaza have not been fully achieved.

According to the survey:

  • 57% believe that while some goals have been achieved, Israel has failed overall due to poor strategic decisions by the Netanyahu administration.
  • 32% think that none of Israel’s war objectives have been achieved, considering the operation a complete failure.
  • Only 4% believe that Israel has fully achieved its goals in Gaza.

The findings highlight growing dissatisfaction among Israeli citizens regarding the prolonged war and its impact. Political analysts suggest that Israel’s inability to eliminate Hamas has intensified domestic concerns, with some warning of a potential civil war within Israel itself.

Wave of Resignations in the Israeli Military

Amidst growing frustration, several high-ranking Israeli military officials have resigned due to dissatisfaction with the war's progress. Notable resignations include:

  • Army Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi
  • Southern Command Chief Major General Yaron Finkelman
  • Gaza Division Commander Avi Rosenfeld
  • Military Intelligence Chief Aharon Haliva
  • Intelligence Unit 8200 Commander Yossi Sariel
  • Northern Brigade Commander Haim Cohen

The resignations indicate deep unrest within the Israeli military, as many officers question the effectiveness of Israel’s military strategy against Hamas.

Hamas Resurgence and Israeli Army’s Struggles

Despite months of Israeli military operations, Hamas fighters remain active in Gaza. The Palestinian resistance group has claimed that Israel has failed to destroy its infrastructure or weaken its military capabilities. Israeli reserve general Isaac Barak has even warned that Israel is on the verge of civil war, with its military struggling to sustain operations.

Barak stated that while Hamas and Islamic Jihad have recovered from the Israeli attacks, Israel's social and military stability is deteriorating. He cautioned that any further escalation would be disastrous for Israel.

The war in Gaza continues to fuel political turmoil and military instability in Israel, raising serious concerns about Netanyahu’s leadership and the country’s future strategy.
