Gaza, July 14 (V7N) — Gaza remains engulfed in death and destruction as Israeli military operations continue into their 22nd month. More than 58,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have been killed since October 7, 2023, according to local health authorities and humanitarian sources.

Sunday’s Bloodshed

On Sunday, July 13, Israeli forces carried out another wave of airstrikes, including a deadly missile attack on a busy market in Gaza City, killing at least 12 civilians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Among the victims was a health worker, highlighting the continued targeting of essential personnel in the war zone.

Another missile strike hit the Nuseirat refugee camp, where civilians had gathered to collect drinking water. Ten people, including several children, were reportedly killed in that attack. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen as clean water and food become increasingly scarce.

Israeli Statement and UN Reaction

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that one of the missiles intended for Hamas operatives landed in the civilian area due to a mechanical fault, but that explanation has not satisfied international observers or local residents, who accuse Israel of indiscriminate bombing.

The United Nations has reiterated its urgent plea for fuel supplies to be allowed into Gaza to prevent the collapse of vital services, including hospitals, ambulances, and water distribution systems.

Gaza's Humanitarian Nightmare

  • Journalists, doctors, aid workers, and human rights activists have also been among the victims of the ongoing military campaign.

  • Severe fuel shortages have crippled Gaza’s hospitals, delaying surgeries and risking the lives of patients dependent on life support systems.

  • The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warns that over 2 million residents are on the brink of famine, disease, and complete displacement.

The international community continues to call for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian access, and accountability for alleged war crimes. Meanwhile, the people of Gaza endure yet another day under fire, with no clear end in sight.
