Jerusalem, April 09 (V7N) — Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong warning that Israel is prepared to resume military action against Iran at any moment, despite the recently announced ceasefire involving the United States and Iran.
Speaking at a televised press conference on Wednesday, Netanyahu said, “Our finger is on the trigger,” signaling Israel’s readiness to restart hostilities if necessary, according to The Times of Israel.
He stated that Israel has emerged from the six-week conflict in a stronger position, even though the war had shaken the country’s foundations. However, he emphasized that several key objectives remain unfulfilled.
Among these, Netanyahu highlighted the complete dismantling of Iran’s uranium stockpile, which he said must be achieved either through diplomatic agreements or military action. He warned that failure to meet these goals could lead to the resumption of war.
The Israeli prime minister clarified that the current ceasefire is temporary and does not mark the end of Israel’s campaign against Iran. The two-week truce came into effect following close coordination with Donald Trump.
Netanyahu also claimed that Iran would face increased pressure in upcoming negotiations, referring to potential talks reportedly linked to Islamabad.
Meanwhile, he reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to restoring security in its northern region, stating that operations against the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah will continue.
The remarks underscore ongoing volatility in the region, despite the ceasefire, and raise concerns about the durability of the current pause in hostilities.
