DOHA, Jan 6, (V7N) – Paris Saint-Germain clinched their third consecutive Champions Trophy title with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Monaco, courtesy of a stoppage-time winner from Ousmane Dembélé.
Dembélé struck in the second minute of added time, finishing unmarked at the back post after Fabian Ruiz delivered a precise low cross from the left. The victory at Stadium 974 in Doha marked PSG's record-extending 13th title in the French Super Cup competition.
PSG dominated much of the match, with Désiré Doué hitting the crossbar early on and Monaco goalkeeper Philipp Köhn making multiple key saves. Despite PSG's control, Monaco came close after halftime, hitting the post twice through Eliesse Ben Seghir and Vanderson.
Achraf Hakimi nearly broke the deadlock for PSG in the 74th minute, but Köhn's outstanding save kept Monaco in the game. However, Köhn misjudged Ruiz's decisive cross in stoppage time, allowing Dembélé to seal the win.
PSG coach Luis Enrique praised his team's performance, saying, "The result reflects our domination." Monaco coach Adi Hütter acknowledged PSG's superiority, lamenting, "A goal in the last minute always feels like a knife in the back."
Elsewhere, Marseille strengthened their position in Ligue 1, thrashing Le Havre 5-1 at the Stade Vélodrome. Valentin Rongier opened the scoring with a long-range strike, followed by goals from Bilal Nadir, Neal Maupay, Elye Wahi, and Ulisses Garcia.
Former Marseille star André Ayew scored a consolation goal for Le Havre, receiving a warm ovation from home fans who chanted his name.
