Nelly Korda continued her dominant run on the LPGA Tour by clinching her fifth consecutive victory at the Chevron Championship, matching a historic record in the process. Korda's triumph at the Chevron Championship secured her second major title and marked her 13th career tour win.

The 25-year-old American maintained her composure through a tense back nine to finish with a three-under par 69, concluding the tournament at 13-under 275. This victory extended Korda's impressive streak of wins this season, equalling the LPGA record set by Nancy Lopez in 1978 and Annika Sorenstam from 2004-05.

Reflecting on her performance, Korda admitted to feeling the pressure during the final stretch of the tournament. She described the back nine as one of the longest of her career but expressed relief and happiness in securing the win.

Korda's nearest competitor, Maja Stark of Sweden, finished two strokes behind at 277 after a solid closing round of 69. American Lauren Coughlin and Canada's Brooke Henderson tied for third place at 278, with South Korea's Ryu Hae-ran finishing fifth on 279.

Nelly Korda's success in 2022 extends beyond the Chevron Championship, having previously triumphed at the Drive On Championship in January, the Seri Pak and Ford championships in March, and the LPGA Match Play earlier this month. The daughter of former tennis star Petr Korda attributes her success to a simple approach, focusing on one shot at a time.

Despite late challenges from competitors during the final round, Korda maintained her composure and secured victory with a birdie on the 18th hole. This win solidifies Korda's standing as one of the top players in women's golf, with her remarkable performance setting the stage for further achievements in the season ahead.
