Sept 12, V7N - Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow held a news conference on Wednesday to address the concerns surrounding his surgically repaired wrist following the team's Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots.Burrow, who is playing for the first time since suffering a torn ligament in his right (throwing) wrist last November, insisted that the injury is not impacting his ability to throw. "It feels great, feels better this week than it did last week, than it did the week before, so it's continuing to do better," Burrow said.

In the Bengals' 16-10 loss to the Patriots, Burrow threw for only 164 yards without a touchdown or an interception. Cameras caught him flexing and rubbing his wrist throughout the game, and one shot of him picking up a water bottle on the sideline sparked speculation about the injury.

Burrow dismissed the concerns, saying, "I picked it up weird? I don't know. I drank water. Can't say I have seen that or know what anyone is talking about." He explained that the rubbing and flexing is "part of ligament injuries" and that he needs to keep the wrist mobile to avoid losing mobility.Despite being listed on the Bengals' Week 2 injury report, Burrow did practice in full on Wednesday.

The Bengals will face the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. In 10 games last season, Burrow completed 66.8 percent of his passes for 2,309 yards and 15 touchdowns with six interceptions.

He had eclipsed 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in each of his two previous seasons, the only full seasons the fifth-year pro has played.Burrow's reassurances about his wrist injury will be crucial as the Bengals look to bounce back from their Week 1 defeat and take on the formidable Chiefs in a crucial early-season matchup.
