The High Court has ordered the suspension of the broadcast of private television channel Somoy TV for seven days.

The bench, comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Sashanka Shekhar Sarkar, issued the order on Monday.

On August 14, a petition was filed in court challenging the legality of the removal of Ahmed Zubair from the position of MD and CEO of Somoy TV.

Senior lawyer Ahsanul Karim represented City Group in court, while senior lawyer AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon represented Ahmed Zubair.
