Gujrat, Mar 03 (V7N) – Six individuals were tragically killed in a gunfight in the city of Gujrat, located in Pakistan's Punjab province. The victims, aged between 26 and 35, were shot by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in the Miana Chak Dinga area on Sunday morning (March 2).

According to police reports, the attack was motivated by personal enmity. While the identities of five of the deceased have been confirmed, one victim remains unidentified. Rescue workers quickly arrived at the scene following reports of the shooting and transported the bodies to a nearby hospital.

Following the tragic incident, the police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers. A Punjab police spokesperson confirmed that the provincial inspector general of police has been briefed on the incident and has requested a detailed report. The inspector general has directed the regional police officer to ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits.

Shootings triggered by personal vendettas and tribal conflicts are unfortunately common in Pakistan, with flawed trials sometimes allowing the guilty to evade justice. The January shooting of a municipal employee on one of Karachi's busiest streets serves as a reminder of the ongoing issue with such violence.

As investigations continue, local authorities are working to prevent further violence and bring those responsible for this deadly attack to justice.
