According to local officials, at least 13 people were killed on Sunday by shelling at a market outside the city of Donetsk in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

According to Denis Pushilin, leader of the Russian-installed authority in Donetsk, ten more persons were hurt in the attack on the suburb of Tekstilshchik. He said that the Ukrainian military was responsible for firing the shells.

The statements could not be independently verified by The Associated Press, and Kyiv has not responded to the event.

Emergency personnel are still on the scene, according to Pushilin.

Following two explosions on Sunday, fire broke out at a chemical cargo terminal at Russia's Ust-Luga port, according to local officials. According to local media, a gas tank exploded at the port as a result of Ukrainian drone attacks.

The fire occurred at a location 165 kilometers southwest of St. Petersburg, at a facility owned by Novatek, the second-biggest natural gas producer in Russia.

In a statement, Yuriy Zapalatskiy, the port director for Russia's Kingisepp region, stated that although there were no casualties, the area had been put on high alert.

Two drones were seen flying toward St. Petersburg on Sunday morning, but they were diverted to the Kingisepp area, according to news source Fontanka. The reports could not be independently verified by the Associated Press.

In its daily briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense made no mention of any drone operations in the Kingisepp region. It stated that two more Ukrainian drones had been shot down in the Oryol and Tula regions, and that four more had been downed in the Smolensk region of Russia.

Prior to this, Russian officials had reported that a Ukrainian drone had been shot down on Thursday in the suburbs of St. Petersburg.
