Asaduzzaman, a Bangladeshi pilgrim, passed away in Medina on May 15. This marks the first death of a Bangladeshi pilgrim during this year's Hajj. The incident was reported by the IT helpdesk of the Hajj portal in their daily bulletin at around 3 am on Saturday. 

Asaduzzaman, whose passport number is A-13561034, fainted suddenly while at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. He was immediately admitted to King Salman Hospital, where he later died during treatment. Asaduzzaman hailed from Satashi village in Maska Union number 7 of Kendua Upazila in Netrakona district.

As of the latest reports, 27,111 Bangladeshi pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia for Hajj. However, 4,256 pilgrims are still awaiting their visas. According to the Dhaka Hajj Office, a total of 85,117 people from Bangladesh are set to perform Hajj this year, including 4,323 under government management and 78,895 under private management. For every 44 pilgrims, one guide will accompany them, making a total of 1,899 guides.

So far, 68 Hajj flights have been operated to Saudi Arabia, with 25 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 23 by Saudi Airlines, and 20 by Flynas Airlines. The Hajj pilgrimage is scheduled for June 16, subject to the sighting of the moon. Hajj flights began on May 9 and will continue until June 10, with return flights starting on June 20 and ending on July 22.
