The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) announced on Thursday that Hamas is ready to negotiate a full ceasefire agreement, conditional on the cessation of Israeli military actions in Gaza. This development was reported by Reuters.

Hamas communicated their position through a statement on their Telegram channel, expressing readiness for a "comprehensive deal," including a hostage exchange, if Israel halts its operations in Gaza.

The statement read, "Today we made our position clear to the mediators regarding the ceasefire. We have said that if the occupation forces stop fighting the Palestinians in Gaza, then we are ready for a 'comprehensive deal'." Hamas also mentioned their positive reception to past mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt, highlighting their acceptance of the May 6 ceasefire proposal which Israel subsequently rejected, leading to renewed hostilities on May 7 in Rafah.

The ongoing conflict has seen severe casualties and destruction. Despite a ban by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Israeli forces raided Rafah, resulting in the deaths of at least 45 people, including 23 children, women, and elderly individuals.

Over 200 people were injured in these attacks on refugee camps, which reportedly involved US-supplied bombs.

Media analysis, including from CNN and Al Jazeera, revealed horrific scenes, with many casualties suffering severe burns and dismemberment.
