Gaza Strip, June 18, 2024 — Before dawn on the holy day of Eid-ul-Azha, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a series of airstrikes targeting several refugee camps in central Gaza. The attacks have resulted in significant casualties and destruction, as reported by local sources.

A residential building in the Bureij refugee camp was destroyed in the airstrike, resulting in the death of one Palestinian. Additionally, the Nuseirat camp faced heavy bombardment, where at least 12 Palestinians were killed, and many others were injured. The exact number of casualties may rise as it is feared that several people are still trapped under the rubble.

In Deir al-Balah, Israeli quadcopter drones have been conducting continuous patrols, adding to the tension and fear among the residents.

Since October 7 last year, Gaza has been under relentless attacks by Israeli forces. The toll has been devastating, with 37,347 Palestinians losing their lives and over 85,000 seriously injured in the conflict.

The ongoing violence highlights the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the urgent need for a resolution to the conflict.
