Natore, Sep 09 (V7N) - The body of Jahangir Alam, an auto driver from Naladanga, has been recovered by police from a pond in Shutikigacha, Atrai, Naogaon. The body was found on Sunday afternoon by Atrai police. Initially, the body was unidentified, but it was later recognized through fingerprint analysis.
 
Jahangir Alam, a resident of Thakur Lakshikula in Naladanga and a professional auto driver, had been missing for two days. According to Naladanga police and the victim’s family, Alam left with his auto two days ago and did not return. After an extensive search, his wife and family reported him missing at Naladanga police station on Sunday afternoon and learned that his body had been found in Shutikigacha pond in Atrai.
 
The family confirmed the identity of Jahangir Alam after receiving a photo of the deceased from Naladanga police via mobile. Atrai police investigation officer Lutfor Rahman speculated that the assailants likely rented the auto, then stole it and killed Jahangir Alam, dumping his body in the pond. Following the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family. Legal action is being initiated in connection with the incident.
