Dhaka, Mar 03 (V7N) – BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has urged everyone to stay united, emphasizing that while the fascist and dictator may be gone, the crisis is not over yet.
Speaking at a book launch event at the Jatiya Press Club, he said: "Bangladesh has many enemies, but if we remain united, no one can harm us."
The event marked the unveiling of "The Colorful Life of Former Army Chief Lt General Mahbubur Rahman," written by journalist and author Jamal Uddin Jamal.
Shamsuzzaman stressed the urgency of holding a national election as soon as possible, arguing that the people have been deprived of their voting rights for the past 15 years.
Discussing the economic situation and law and order, he pointed out that market syndicates remain unchecked and the country’s security situation is worsening.
He expressed confidence that these issues will be resolved once the people's voting rights are restored.
The BNP leader urged the government to ensure a free, fair, and credible election.
Otherwise, he warned, the country could face a severe crisis.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of the July-August Uprising, he honored their sacrifices in rebuilding the nation.
The event was attended by Jatiya Press Club President and Daily Kaler Kantho Editor Poet Hasan Hafiz, author Jamal Uddin Jamal, and others. The discussion was chaired by Albert P Costa, Chairman of the Society for Peace and Progress.
