Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N): The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on Sunday that no legal cases will be filed, nor will arrests be made, against those involved in the student-led uprising that led to the fall of the former dictatorial fascist government during the July-August period.

The ministry confirmed in a media statement that participants in the mass movement, which took place from July 15 to August 8, will not be subjected to harassment.

The statement emphasized that a new era for Bangladesh began on August 5, following the fall of the dictatorship through this mass uprising. It further instructed relevant authorities to ensure that no unjust actions are taken against the participants.

Officials have been warned to remain alert to prevent false accusations or misinformation from being used for personal gain. Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a stern warning against the filing of false cases, stating that such actions are considered criminal offenses under current Bangladeshi law.

The ministry urged the public to report any false claims to law enforcement, emphasizing that legal measures will be taken against those who misuse the legal process for extortion or harassment.
