Dhaka, Feb 11 (V7N) – Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has urged the people of Bangladesh to support the government's efforts in establishing a culture of reform and justice. He made this call during the inaugural ceremony of the Youth Festival at Dhaka University's central playground on Tuesday morning.
"I expect the cooperation of all the countrymen for the healthy democratic transition that this government has taken on," said Asif, emphasizing the need for collective effort to ensure a sustainable democratic future.
Highlighting the critical role of the youth, Asif credited them for sparking new aspirations for the nation during the July coup. "The youth have created a context for the country to show new dreams. They must also play a role in making that a success. It is expected that they will come forward to rebuild the country," he added.
Asif further stated that the proposals of the Reform Commission would be implemented in consultation with relevant stakeholders, aiming to liberate the country from its fascist past.
Also speaking at the event, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan highlighted the damaging effects of political revenge and partisanship. "The politics of revenge and partisanship have created divisions and large-scale wounds," he noted, urging all parties to work towards national unity and reconciliation.
The Youth Festival is seen as a symbol of hope and rejuvenation for the nation's younger generation. The government hopes that the active participation of the youth will contribute significantly to rebuilding Bangladesh and fostering a culture of democratic accountability.
