DHAKA, Mar 03 (V7N) — Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi has pledged Japan’s support for the interim government led by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, reaffirming Tokyo’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties under the "Strategic Partnership."
Speaking at a National Day reception celebrating the 65th birthday of Emperor Naruhito, held at his official residence, Ambassador Saida emphasized Japan’s ongoing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, and development.
The event was attended by Commerce, Textiles, and Jute Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin as the chief guest, along with government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and cultural figures.
Japanese companies and organizations operating in Bangladesh set up booths to showcase their activities, while guests were treated to a live cooking demonstration of Japanese scallops.
Ambassador Saida also presented a ‘Myakumyaku’ mascot, the official character of the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo, to Adviser Bashir Uddin. A special booth was set up to promote the global event.
The event reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to deepening economic cooperation and supporting Bangladesh’s reform agenda, in line with ongoing development projects and investment initiatives.
