Dhaka, March 31, (V7N) - Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended an invitation to Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time, expressing optimism about the future of bilateral relations.
In a statement shared on his verified X handle, Sharif revealed details of his “pleasant” telephone conversation with Dr. Yunus on Monday, during which both leaders exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings.
During the call, the Pakistan premier reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation. He highlighted Pakistan’s eagerness to hold foreign secretary-level talks with Bangladesh to further boost bilateral ties.
Sharif also announced that Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, will visit Dhaka on April 22, leading a trade delegation aimed at expanding economic collaboration between the two countries.
In an effort to foster cultural diplomacy, the Pakistan PM invited a Bangladeshi cultural troupe, including legendary singer Runa Laila, to visit Pakistan.
Looking ahead, Sharif expressed confidence in the strengthening of Dhaka-Islamabad ties, saying, “The future looks bright for Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, Inshallah.”
