Dhaka, July 23 (V7N) – In the wake of the tragic plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Cultural Affairs Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui has shared a crucial message from the Ministry of Health on his official social media page.
The post, originally published by the Ministry, states:
“It is hereby informed that it has not been possible to identify the 6 bodies kept in the CMH morgue so far.”
According to the Ministry, DNA samples have been collected from the six unidentified bodies under expert supervision. The DNA profiling process will be carried out at the CID laboratory in Malibagh.
Family members whose loved ones remain missing and are not listed among the confirmed deceased or injured are urged to visit the CID building in Malibagh to submit their DNA samples for matching. Authorities stress that this is essential to confirm the identities of the deceased and allow families to claim their loved ones’ remains.
The Ministry noted that only one family has submitted DNA samples so far, and called for public cooperation to expedite the identification process.
Meanwhile, the death toll from Monday’s Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone has risen to 32 after another injured child succumbed to injuries during treatment. Among the deceased are children, teachers, and the pilot, with dozens more undergoing treatment at hospitals across the city.
The Health Ministry and government officials continue to appeal for calm and assistance as recovery and investigation efforts progress.
