Dhaka, Oct 04 (V7N)- Bangladesh has strongly condemned a reported Houthi drone attack targeting the Taybah power plant in Medina, Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Sunday.
The ministry said the deliberate targeting of vital civilian infrastructure supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque was unacceptable and amounted to an attack on the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites.
Bangladesh expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to protect its security and sovereignty.
The government also reaffirmed its opposition to actions that could undermine peace and stability in the region.
Bangladesh called for respect for civilian infrastructure and stressed the importance of avoiding actions that could further escalate regional tensions.
