Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the metro rail operator, has announced a special schedule for the holy month of Ramadan. Additionally, passengers will be allowed to carry 250 ml of water per person for Iftar while traveling on the metro rail. However, no other food will be permitted inside the trains.
The new schedule and the water allowance policy were confirmed in a notification issued by DMTCL on Saturday (March 1).
DMTCL stated that while passengers can carry small water bottles for Iftar, they must ensure no spillage and dispose of empty bottles in designated dustbins located on the platform, concourse, and at entry and exit gates.
The metro rail schedule for Fridays, Saturdays, and other public holidays will remain unchanged. However, the weekday schedule has been adjusted as follows:
Uttara North to Motijheel
- 7:10 AM – 7:30 AM → Trains every 10 minutes
- 7:31 AM – 6:50 PM → Trains every 8 minutes
- 6:51 PM – 9:00 PM → Trains every 10 minutes
- First Train: 7:10 AM
- Last Train: 9:00 PM
Motijheel to Uttara North
- 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM → Trains every 10 minutes
- 8:01 AM – 7:30 PM → Trains every 8 minutes
- First Train: 7:30 AM
- Last Train: 9:40 PM
DMTCL has requested passengers to cooperate with metro authorities and follow the guidelines for a smooth commuting experience during Ramadan.
