Dhaka, Apr 12 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has warned that the ongoing mild to moderate heat wave across the country is likely to spread further in the coming days.
According to a five-day forecast issued from Sunday evening, the heat wave is currently affecting Dhaka, along with districts such as Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, and Sirajganj, as well as the Khulna division.
The forecast also indicates chances of temporary gusty winds, rain, or thundershowers in one or two places in the Chittagong and Sylhet divisions within the next 24 hours. On Monday (April 13), rainfall accompanied by gusty winds may occur in parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions.
Rainfall is expected to continue in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions between April 14 and 16, while northern and western regions—including Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Khulna—may also experience rain on April 16. Other parts of the country are likely to see mainly dry weather with partly cloudy skies.
The department said daytime temperatures may rise slightly over the next two days, with night temperatures increasing by 1–2°C. However, a slight drop in daytime temperatures is expected from April 14.
Winds in Dhaka are currently blowing from the south/southwest at speeds of 10–15 km/h, with humidity recorded at 29 percent on Sunday evening.
The Meteorological Department noted that no major changes are expected in the overall weather pattern during the extended five-day period.
