Cox's Bazar, Mar 5, (V7N) – Police and Navy personnel have rescued 11 women and children from a kidnapping gang’s hideout in the remote hills of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.

The operation took place on March 4, 2025, around noon in the hilly area of Ali Khali, Hnila Union, Teknaf. Initially, the police launched the operation, and later the Bangladesh Navy joined in the joint rescue mission, leading to the recovery of the 11 victims, including 9 women and 2 children.

Teknaf Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Muhammad Giyas Uddin, confirmed the rescue and stated that the operation followed a report about the abduction of 11 family members, led by an individual named Riduian. Upon reaching the hideout, the joint force succeeded in rescuing the victims.

According to the victims' families, a group of armed terrorists had forcibly taken the victims from their homes, threatening them with local weapons and firearms. Upon noticing the presence of the joint forces, the kidnappers fled the scene. The rescued individuals were later handed over to their families.
