Chattogram , Dec 21 (V7N) — The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) apprehended Shahidul Islam, alias Buishsha, a top criminal in Chattogram , along with firearms on Saturday around 10:00 pm. The arrest took place near Finlay Square, in the area of Gate No. 2 of the city.

RAB officials stated that Buishsha is facing multiple cases across several police stations in the city, including charges related to arms possession, extortion, and terrorist activities. During preliminary questioning, he admitted to carrying out criminal activities in the city on behalf of the fugitive leader Sazzad. Authorities are gathering information regarding the source of his firearms, the involvement of other members of his network, and any connections to recent violent incidents.

Buishsha further confessed that he operates an active criminal network in Chattogram, engaged in extortion, intimidation, and threats against rivals. RAB is investigating the full extent of his activities and associations.

Squadron Leader Md. Mizanur Rahman, Acting Commander of RAB-7, announced in a statement that a detailed press briefing regarding Buishsha’s arrest and criminal activities will be held on Sunday at 11:00 am.

Authorities have emphasized that the arrest is a significant step in dismantling organized criminal networks in Chattogram and ensuring public safety.
