Madaripur, July 10 (V7N)- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has arrested Syed Abed Ali, the driver of the former chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, along with 17 others, including two deputy directors, on charges of being involved in the question leak of 30 recruitment exams, including the BCS exams. 
 
Among those arrested are Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, the former (dismissed) Relief and Disaster Management Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Chhatra League, two deputy directors of the BPSC, an assistant director, and two office assistants.
 
Syed Abed Ali's ancestral home is in Dasar Upazila of Madaripur district. Reviewing the personal Facebook profiles of Abed Ali and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam reveals various posts about political, social activities, charity, and religious observances.
 
In the most recent Upazila Parishad election, Abed Ali campaigned for the chairman position. He regularly mingled with the affluent and influential members of society. He also frequently interacted with senior administrative officials. 
 
Before the arrest on Monday, Abed Ali’s son Sohanur Rahman Siam was relieved from his position as the Relief and Disaster Management Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Chhatra League. This was confirmed by a press release from the North Metropolitan Chhatra League on Monday.
