Pakistan , Sept 03 (V7N): Bangladesh secured a landmark 2-0 Test series triumph against Pakistan with a commanding six-wicket win at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The match concluded with Mushfiqur Rahim (22*) and Shakib al Hasan (21*) at the crease, guiding Bangladesh to victory.

The final day began with Bangladesh losing both openers within the first hour of play. Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam, who had started the day on 42 without loss, were dismissed for 40 and 24, respectively. Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 33 and was joined by Mominul Haque, who contributed 20, as the team reached 122 runs by lunch on day five.

After the break, Shanto was dismissed for 38, while Mominul was out for 34. Earlier, on the fourth day, Bangladesh's pace bowlers Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana took nine wickets between them, dismissing Pakistan for 172 in their second innings. Hasan’s 5/43 and Nahid’s 4/44 set a target of 185 runs for Bangladesh.

Salman Agha was Pakistan’s highest scorer with an unbeaten 47, and Mohammad Rizwan added 43. Bangladesh won the first Test by 10 wickets, marking their first-ever Test series win over Pakistan.

This series win is particularly notable as it adds to Bangladesh's previous away victories against the West Indies in 2009 and Zimbabwe in 2021.
