Eight mother turtles laid 898 eggs on the Ukhiya-Teknaf beach in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, before going back to the sea. Olive Ridley species turtles are the ones who discharge the eggs. They were gathered early on Wednesday, February 28, from the Ukhiya-Teknaf seashore area. Asim Barua, the NRM manager of the CODEC Nature and Life Project, affirmed this.

According to him, two turtles deposited 221 eggs in Matherbunia, Ukhiya; four turtles placed 455 eggs in North Shilkhali, Teknaf; and two turtles laid 222 eggs in Chepatkhali. Afterward, the turtles left the shore and returned to the ocean. Following that, 898 eggs were deposited by turtles from the shore. They gather eggs.

He said that to preserve the endangered turtle species, five turtle hatcheries have been established along the Ukhiya-Teknaf shore. The eggs that the turtles lay on the seashore are gathered and sent to the hatchery. They are released into the water after hatching.
