Dhaka, Sep 04 (V7N) – With the court clearing the final legal hurdles, the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections are set to take place on September 9, intensifying campaigning across the campus.

From Thursday morning, the DU campus has been abuzz with campaign activity. Candidates and their supporters were seen distributing leaflets and handbills in front of the iconic Madhur Canteen and Aparajeyo Bangla, seeking voter support. Alongside promises of improving student facilities, candidates also accused rivals of violating the electoral code of conduct.

However, allegations have surfaced that the university administration is not taking firm action despite reports of repeated violations.

Meanwhile, concerns remain that a writ petition could be filed again in the High Court by a candidate attempting to restore his candidacy. Despite this, both students and candidates expressed optimism that the polls will be held free, fair, and impartial, leaving conspiracies behind.

The recent decision to increase the number of polling booths and reduce university holidays during election week has been welcomed by most panels, who see it as a step toward ensuring smooth and inclusive voting.
