Dhaka, Apr 14 (V7N) — The cultural heartbeat of Bangladesh, Chhayanaut, has once again ushered in the Bengali New Year 1432 with its traditional dawn celebration at Ramna Batamul in the capital. As the first light of the Bengali calendar year lit up the sky on Monday morning, the festivities began, carrying the message: “My liberation in light.”

Staying true to tradition since 1967, Chhayanaut marked the arrival of Pohela Boishakh with a vibrant cultural program. This year’s performance is themed around light, nature, humanity, and patriotism, resonating deeply with hopes for renewal and freedom.

A total of 24 performances are scheduled, including 9 group songs, 12 solos, and 3 poetry recitations. The highlight of the event is the New Year’s speech by Chhayanaut Executive President Dr. Sarwar Ali, followed by the national anthem as a finale.

The attire reflected elegance and harmony with male performers in maroon Punjabis and white pajamas, and female artists in off-white sarees with maroon borders, evoking a traditional and unified aesthetic.

The gathering at Ramna was not just a cultural display but also a celebration of the resilience of Bangladeshi identity, reminding all of the enduring spirit of Bengali heritage and unity.
