SANGSAD BHABAN, June 23, (V7N) — Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu told Parliament today that allegations of irregularities and corruption in rural infrastructure renovation projects carried out during the previous government’s tenure are under investigation.
Responding to a written question from ruling party lawmaker Mostafizur Rahman Babul of Jamalpur-3, the minister said probes are underway into alleged irregularities and corruption in allocations under the Test Relief (TR), Kabita (Food for Work), and Kabikha (Cash for Work) programmes.
These projects were implemented in the name of rural infrastructure development during the previous administration, he noted.
The day’s sitting was chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram.
Dulu added that legal and administrative action will be taken if the allegations are substantiated by the ongoing investigations.
