CHATTOGRAM, Sept 14, ( V7N )- Chattogram Custom House has decided to introduce round-the-clock customs clearance operations, including on weekends and public holidays, to facilitate the speedy release of imported goods and ensure continuity in the country's overall supply chain.
According to a notification signed by Sharif Mohammad Al Amin, Assistant Commissioner of Chattogram Custom House, customs clearance and cargo release processes will now continue uninterrupted on weekly holidays (Fridays and Saturdays) as well as other public holidays.
The decision aims to ensure the smooth operation of the country's supply chain by expediting the clearance of import consignments, the notification said.
As a result, customs clearance and cargo release activities will continue on weekly and public holidays, just as they do on regular working days.
Assistant Commissioner Sharif Mohammad Al Amin said the continuation of customs clearance operations on Fridays, Saturdays and other holidays would help maintain the momentum of the country's import-export activities.
