Narsingdi, Oct 27 (V7N)- Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for the northern region, has said that neither the Awami League nor the Jamaat-e-Islami can single-handedly lead the struggle against Indian dominance in the context of Bangladesh’s future. He emphasized that the National Citizens Party (NCP) is essential to play a decisive role in this regard.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at the NCP district coordination meeting held at the District Shilpakala Academy Hall Room in Narsingdi on Sunday (October 26) evening.

Sarjis Alam said, “The aspirations we held after the coup of ’24 have not been realized as expected. Even what was supposed to happen within a year did not occur. However, it is unrealistic to expect that the wounds of 54 years can be healed in just one year. These issues are not confined to Sheikh Hasina or a few of her associates — they are deeply rooted across all sectors of society. Every part of the nation is reacting, as power abuse has become a widespread tendency. We must overcome this gradually — through a process, through struggle.”

Reaffirming the NCP’s political stance, Sarjis added, “We did not emerge to become the 46th political party in Bangladesh. We will either form a government that truly represents the people, or serve as a strong opposition. We have not come to be a pet political party like the Jatiya Party.”

The meeting was presided over by Awlada Hossain Joni, chief coordinator of the NCP’s Narsingdi district branch. Among others present were joint convener Sarwar Tushar, divisional organizing secretary (Dhaka) Saiful Haider, joint chief organizer Abdul Al Faisal, central member Abdullahil Mamun Niloy, Central Diaspora Alliance member Saif Ibne Sarwar, and other district leaders.
