Barguna, July 11 (V7N)- Hospital authorities at Barguna General Hospital have rescued a newborn found alive near the hospital's kitchen.
 
On Thursday (July 11) around 11 AM, the newborn was discovered in an abandoned area adjacent to the hospital's kitchen.
 
According to hospital sources, at approximately 11 AM on Thursday, a hospital employee heard a baby crying from the abandoned area near the kitchen of Barguna General Hospital. The employee then rescued the newborn and brought the baby to the hospital. The newborn is currently receiving medical care. The baby is physically unwell, estimated to be one to two days old, and weighs around two and a half kilograms.
 
Officer-in-Charge of Barguna Sadar Police Station, S.M. Mizanur Rahman, reported, "The rescued newborn is currently under treatment at the hospital. Efforts are underway to identify the child."
 
Dr. Tajkia Siddiqah, Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Barguna 250-bed General Hospital, stated, "When the newborn was brought in, it was unwell. Ants were covering the baby's body, causing red bumps from the bites. The baby is currently under treatment. The hospital authorities have informed the Sadar Police Station and higher authorities."
