India's Lok Sabha elections continue as the nation witnesses the third phase of voting across 11 states and one union territory. With 93 constituencies up for grabs, the voting frenzy began at 7 am local time and will continue until 4 pm.

Following the electoral excitement in hundreds of constituencies during the initial phases, the second phase saw voting in 88 constituencies. Now, voters cast their ballots in key constituencies spread across various states in the third phase of polling.

According to reports from Indian media outlet NDTV, voters are actively participating in the election process across 93 Lok Sabha seats, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi exercised his franchise at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ranip, Ahmedabad, accompanied by Home Minister Amit Shah.

Urging citizens to fulfill their democratic duty, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of voting and shared his journey from Andhra Pradesh to Ahmedabad to cast his vote.

In the previous election, the BJP and its allies clinched victory in 80 out of 93 seats in the third phase, with the Congress alliance securing only 11 seats. However, the Congress faces formidable challenges this time, especially in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Key battlegrounds include Gujarat, where 25 out of 26 constituencies are voting, and Karnataka, with 14 seats up for grabs. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh witnesses voting in 10 constituencies, featuring a fierce contest between BJP and Samajwadi Party candidates.

Apart from these states, voting is also underway in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Bihar, and West Bengal, determining the fate of heavyweight candidates like Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule in Maharashtra's Baramati constituency.

While voter turnout in the previous phases hovered around 66%, the Election Commission calls upon voters to increase participation in this crucial phase.

Amidst the electoral fervor, political rhetoric intensifies, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accusing the BJP of undermining the constitution, while NDA leaders counter with allegations of religious favoritism.

With Lok Sabha elections unfolding in seven phases, the upcoming phases on May 13, 20, 26, and June 1 will pave the way for the final verdict on June 4, revealing which party will helm the Delhi Assembly.
