A Delta Airlines flight carrying 277 passengers made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York after serving spoiled food. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, shortly after the A330 aircraft took off from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

The flight was en route and over Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a French island south of Newfoundland in Canada, when the crew realized the food served to passengers was spoiled. Upon discussing the situation with medical experts, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing.

The New York Fire Department reported that the plane landed safely at John F. Kennedy International Airport on July 3. While twelve passengers fell ill, none required immediate medical attention.

Delta Airlines has apologized to the passengers affected by this incident. The airline has also launched an investigation to determine how the spoiled food was detected and how the situation occurred.
