Ukhiya, Aug 31 (V7N) – The body of a school student was recovered on Saturday from the waters off Inani Sea Beach in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, marking the second recovery following the disappearance of two teenagers while fishing with friends.

The deceased was identified as Habibul Absar, 17, son of Nur Hossain of Monkhali Bagghona Para under Jaliapalong Union in Ukhiya upazila.

According to local sources, fishermen spotted a floating body at sea near Inani Beach on Saturday afternoon. They immediately informed the Coast Guard, who retrieved the body and brought it ashore. Family members later arrived at the scene and identified the deceased.

The previous night, around 2:30 AM on Friday, locals had recovered the body of another missing youth, Nazmul Hossain Sayem, son of Nazir Hossain, also from the same village in Monkhali.

Local resident Syed Ahmed reported that both teenagers had gone fishing with friends on Friday morning when they were swept away by strong waves. “We managed to recover one body that night. The other remained missing until the next day,” he said.

Inani Police Outpost in-charge Durjoy confirmed that the bodies of both missing teenagers had been recovered with the help of the local community and Coast Guard. He also noted that the bodies were handed over to their respective families following legal procedures.
