Mar 23 (V7N) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain has ordered the immediate shutdown of Doctors Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center following serious allegations that surgeries were being performed by fake doctors.

The decision came after an unannounced inspection carried out by the minister on Saturday afternoon in the Shyamoli area of the capital Dhaka. During the visit, multiple irregularities were uncovered across different departments of the facility.

Authorities swiftly arranged for the safe transfer of admitted patients to nearby hospitals to ensure uninterrupted treatment and patient safety.

During the inspection, the minister personally spoke with patients and their families. Several individuals also arrived at the hospital upon learning of the visit, accusing the facility of fraud and malpractice under the guise of medical treatment.

“This kind of deception in healthcare will not be tolerated,” the minister stated, assuring that strict legal action will be taken against those responsible.

He further emphasized that monitoring and oversight of private healthcare institutions across the country will be significantly strengthened to prevent such incidents in the future.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over patient safety and regulatory enforcement within Bangladesh’s private healthcare sector.
