Dhaka, Nov 17 (V7N) - The Public Administration Ministry reported that 80 government officials, ranging from assistant secretary to secretary levels, have been designated as officers on special duty (OSD), and 101 contractual appointments were canceled within three months following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government.

The report, released on Sunday, highlighted that during the same period, 768 government officials received promotions or new postings under the interim administration. This includes 12 officials promoted to senior secretary or secretary, three to grade-1, 135 as additional secretaries, 226 as joint secretaries, 125 as deputy secretaries, 221 as senior assistant secretaries (non-cadre), and 37 as assistant secretaries (non-cadre).

Additionally, four government employees were sent on forced leave, and departmental actions were initiated against seven officials.

The report also mentioned that 1,870 officials were transferred across various administrative levels, while 65 were appointed to significant positions.
