Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) – Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed Bangladesh's steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the country's solidarity with the Palestinian people's struggle for justice and dignity.
In observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Tuesday, introduced by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Yunus called for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Yunus also stressed the urgent necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza to safeguard innocent lives, particularly women and children. He highlighted the importance of accountability for atrocities committed against Palestinians, referencing the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion that deems Israel’s occupation unlawful.
Bangladesh remains resolute in supporting Palestine's rightful struggle for justice, freedom, and sovereignty, Yunus stated in his message.
