Dhaka, Dec 02 (V7N) — Students of Dhaka University (DU) staged a protest on Monday night against the attack and vandalism at the premises of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India. The protest began around 9:30 PM at the foot of the Raju sculpture, followed by a procession through the university campus.

Students from various halls joined the march, which passed through the VC Square and culminated in a rally back at the Raju sculpture. During the rally, the protesters chanted slogans such as, "Indian aggression, stop it people," "Delhi no Dhaka," and "Action Action, Direct Action."

The students strongly condemned the attack, emphasizing that India must apologise for the incident. “India is our neighbour, and we seek diplomatic and friendly relations. However, this relationship cannot be one of dominance or subjugation,” the protesters declared.

The protesters asserted that the current government of Bangladesh would not tolerate India's alleged supremacy and warned Delhi against any further aggression.

Bin Yamin Molla, president of Bangladesh Chhatra Adhikar Parishad, called the attack a violation of the Vienna Convention, which governs diplomatic relations. “India has disrespected international law and demonstrated uncivil behaviour. They must apologise to Bangladesh and international organizations,” he stated.

He also alleged conspiracies by India against Bangladesh, claiming interference in domestic politics and military operations. He warned that any aggression from India would be met with resistance, threatening retaliation in India's northeastern regions.

The protesters vowed to defend Bangladesh’s sovereignty, declaring, “If India plays Bangladesh, we will play Seven Sisters.”

The protest reflects growing tensions over the attack, with students demanding accountability and a reassertion of Bangladesh’s independence in diplomatic relations.
