A very severe heat wave has enveloped several districts in the northern, northeastern, and northwestern regions of the country, with Dhaka and Khulna divisions and Rajshahi district experiencing severe heat waves, according to a forecast from the meteorological office.

The forecast indicates that Pabna, Jashore, and Chuadanga districts are currently facing very severe heat waves, while Dhaka and other parts of Khulna divisions and Rajshahi district are experiencing severe heat waves.

Additionally, mild to moderate heat waves are affecting Barishal division, along with other parts of Rajshahi division, and the districts of Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Chandpur, and Rangamati. These conditions are expected to persist, the forecast noted.

The weather bulletin for the next 24 hours predicts rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds in one or two places across Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Chattogram divisions, with the possibility of hail at isolated locations. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies.

A trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal and adjacent areas, contributing to the prevailing weather conditions. Daytime temperatures may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius in Rangpur division, while remaining relatively unchanged elsewhere in the country. Night temperatures are expected to remain consistent nationwide.

The forecast also suggests persistent discomfort due to increased moisture incursion. On Saturday, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 42.6 degrees Celsius in Jashore, while the minimum temperature on Sunday was 20.5 degrees Celsius in Tetulia.

In the capital, Dhaka, the sun sets at 06:23 PM and rises at 05:31 AM, according to the latest data.
