A mild heat wave is currently affecting sixteen districts in Bangladesh and may subside in some areas. The districts experiencing the heat wave include Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Rangpur, Moulvibazar, Chandpur, Noakhali, Bagerhat, Jashore, Barishal, Patuakhali, and Bhola, as per the Meteorological Department's forecast for the next 24 hours from yesterday.

Additionally, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are expected in many places across Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Rain may also occur in a few areas of Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Chattogram divisions, and in one or two locations in Khulna and Barishal divisions, with some areas experiencing moderately heavy to heavy falls.

A trough of low pressure extends from West Bengal to the northwest Bay of Bengal across the southwestern part of Bangladesh. The southwest monsoon has progressed into Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Rajshahi divisions and is expected to advance further.

On Saturday, the highest temperature was recorded at 37.4 degrees Celsius in Jashore, while the lowest temperature today was 21.8 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat. Rajarhat also recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, amounting to 55 millimeters.

Daytime temperatures are likely to fall slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The sun will set at 6:43 PM today and rise at 5:11 AM tomorrow in the capital.
