DHAKA, Feb 16 (V7N) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against ASP Mirza Md Abdus Salam of Godagari Circle in Rajshahi and his wife Shahana Parveen for acquiring assets beyond their known sources of income and concealing wealth information.Md Tanzir Ahmed, Assistant Director of the ACC’s Public Relations Department, confirmed the filing of the case from the ACC headquarters.
The case was lodged by Assistant Director Md Ismail Hossain of the ACC’s Integrated District Office in Rajshahi.According to the First Information Report (FIR), Shahana Parveen submitted an asset statement on August 18, 2024, declaring movable and immovable assets worth approximately Taka 2.174 million.
However, ACC verification revealed assets valued at about Taka 9.516 million in her name, indicating concealed assets worth Taka 7.342 million.Further investigation showed that from the 2014-15 to 2024-25 fiscal years, her lawful income totaled around Taka 714,000, while her total assets and family expenditures amounted to approximately Taka 10,280,750. This discrepancy revealed assets inconsistent with her known income amounting to Taka 9,566,750.
The ACC also stated that ASP Mirza Md Abdus Salam abused his public office and aided his wife in acquiring assets through corrupt means.
