Pabna, Mar 18 (V7N) – In a joint operation by RAB and the army, three top terrorists, including notorious criminal ‘Tabij Faruk’, were arrested in Aminupur, Pabna, during a midnight raid.

The operation, carried out between 1:30 am and 3 am on Monday (March 17), targeted several locations, including Shyampur and Gobindpur in Sagarkandi Union under Aminupur Police Station. RAB-12 Company Commander Mohammad Ilyas Khan confirmed the arrests.

Faruk Sardar alias Tabij Faruk (35) – Son of the deceased Ali Akbar of Gobindapur village, Sujanagar upazila.

Ashiq Hossain (30) – Son of Jamal alias Kath Jamal of Shyampur village.

Hashem Sheikh (28) – Son of Akher Sheikh of Sagarkandi village.

RAB claims that Hashem Sheikh belonged to Tabij Faruk’s gang, while Ashiq Hossain operated for a rival group. However, both gangs had recently merged and engaged in armed criminal activities.

Commander Ilyas Khan stated that the raids were conducted at five to seven locations in Sagarkandi, leading to the arrests of Tabij Faruk and Hashem Sheikh in Gobindpur, while Ashiq Hossain was caught from his home in Shyampur. Though no weapons were recovered, law enforcement is continuing operations to apprehend other fugitives.

When contacted, Aminupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Alamgir Hossain confirmed the arrests but declined to comment further, stating that no final decision had been made regarding the accused.
